As a non profit organization, Rural Development Connections relies on generous donations from individuals and companies. With these donations, RDC empowers impoverished Kenyan farmers with the tools, training, and organic and fair trade certification to grow better crops and sell them for a dramatically improved price. RDC also focuses on community development projects, to improve medical services and to keep farmers' children in school so the poverty cycle does not continue down the generations. Safi Coffee is the retail arm of the Coffee Connections Project. Through participation in the Coffee Connections Project, smallholder Kenyan farmers have a direct stake in Safi Coffee, the company that sells their product on the global market. Empowered by the tools and training provided by our afiliated non profit Rural Development Connections, these once impoverished farmers will become global businessmen and women, with a stake in their and their community's future.
